Jonathan Armstrong is named to the NYSBA AI & Emerging Tech Comittee
We are very pleased to announce that our director Jonathan Armstrong has been invited to serve as the only non-US based lawyer on the New York State Bar Association’s new AI & Emerging Technologies Committee.
The formation of this committee folllows on from the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) AI Task Force, which issued its ground-breaking, first of a kind report into the impact of AI on the legal profession in April 2024. The NYSBA is the largest voluntary state bar organisation, representing over 74,000 lawyers in over 100 countries.
The AI Task Force met initially in part due to the early impact of AI on the law in New York, with the first AI hallucination case coming to court there. The AI & Emerging Technologies Committee (AIETC) will build on its work to examine the legal, social, and ethical impact of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI on the legal profession.
